The Grupo de Análise e Modelización Económica (GAME) from the University of Santiago de Compostela started in 2002, coordinated by prof. Melchor Fernández Fernández. It is formed by 13 members and 2 administrative staff, and it is part of the Instituto Universitario de Estudos e Desenvolvemento de Galicia (IDEGA). Additionally, around 20 PhD dissertations are being supervised by members of the group
During this period the GAME group has established special research relationships in form of co-authorship or research stays with different international universities such as the University degli Studi di Salerno (Italy), University of Naples- Parthenope (Italy), University of Macerata (Italy), Regional Economics Applications Laboratory-University of Illinois (USA), University of Arizona (USA), City-REDI-University of Birmingham (UK), University of York (UK), Aston Business School (UK), University of Groningen (The Netherlands), University of Utrecht (The Netherlands) and the OECD. But also with national universities: Universidad de Oviedo, Universidad de Extremadura, Universidade de Vigo, Universitat de Barcelona, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, Universidad de Zaragoza, Universidade de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Universidad de Málaga.
